Why, Yes, I Do Want People To Write In My Book!
Saturday, April 14, 2012
Yesterday, I went out to my Legion post to do some business (they are long-time supporters of CwtT) and just happened to leave my copy of "A Different View: Travels with Team Easy, Iraq 2007" on the bar. Accidental, of course. Really.
Needless to say, it got passed around, and one regular didn't just glance at it, he read it. Cover to cover. When he finished, he bought me a beer and got the order information for it. This veteran of the 1st Marines will be going to a unit reunion soon, and wants a copy to take with him, to share. To show that it may be a new war, but that some things remain the same. We talked, and I made sure that he knows I want people to write in my book. To share their memories of their time in the sandbox, or jungle, or wherever. Some things do remain the same, and it is more than good to share them. The copy he is buying will be inscribed to him and to the members of his unit, and I can't wait to do that.
The book is gathering some good reviews, and his was one of the best I've gotten. That's what I was looking for.
Keep in mind that ten percent of profits from sale of the book will be going to Cooking with the Troops. Hope you will buy, and enjoy. If you do, hit the Amazon page and leave a review. If sales are good enough, there will be some future volumes.
