Mike Yon Is Totally Wrong about the Geneva Conventions

...and supposes (rhetorically) that soldiers could refuse deployment based on unlawful order.

...And so there it is.  We are in violation of the Geneva Conventions in Afghanistan and are deceptively using the Red Cross.  Is this prosecutable as a war crime?  I do not know.  Is it a violation of the Conventions?  Yes...

I think what I would do is look up the specific Geneva Convention you claim we are in violation of, and then perhaps contact someone who knows the slightest thing about International Law. And, somewhat interestingly, that’s just what I did...

Essentially, Mike high lighted sections of the GC that are non-compulsory and are intended to stop insertion into an occupied territory.  So, he's wrong.  But stirring the put and using rhetoric are things that he's good at...
