Whatever it is, I hope it is fun and safe, and that you and yours have a great time doing whatever it is.
As for me, I am up and on my way to Standing for the Fallen. If you are in DC, it is near the Holocaust Memorial on the Mall, and in Lafayette, IN it is at the corner of Creasy and 26. Please do come by, as these events are raising funds and goods for Soldiers' Angels Germany and the wounded at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
I also want to share a couple of other things with you.
First, today is the official launch of the Gary Sinise Foundation. It's actually been around for a bit, but is now rolling out full-force to do a lot of good. Gary has always done a lot for the troops, as much as he can get away with under the radar.
Second, check out Wings for Warriors. Good friend and blogger Tammi (who needs to update her blog) pointed these guys out and they seem to check out and provide some needed help. Any group willing to help with paperwork and red tape would seem to have chosen a herculean task... Check them out, and share your thoughts with us.
Enjoy your day, celebrate, and if you care to, join us. Since Homeland Insecurity has said there is no threat, be careful out there. :) Then again, given all the traffic, please DO be careful out there.
