I am always disappointed by the lack of interest by many in the media as well as most of our populace in the incredibly aggressive and destabilizing even war-like actions of Iran. The zeal on the left, evidenced by it's clueless leadership, to get this defeat sewn up and ensure that W can take no cowboy-like actions against Iran leaves them unwilling to accept the reality of Iran's crimes. They spin every hostile act by the Mullahs and refuse to accept the reality that their decades-long war against us is bearing fruit.
If they can help Reid and the Democrats manage a defeat in Iraq they will own a good chunk of that country. In addition to Syria, let's not forget that they wholesale control Hezbollah and consequently have a serious voting share of Lebanon, not to mention complete military freedom of maneuver. Here Hezbollah admits they dance to Teheran's tune.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released this excerpt from an interview of Naim Kassem, Hezbollah's Deputy Secretary General, broadcast last week by Iran's Arabic language TV:
For many years, Hizbullah was careful not to implicate Iran in its terror operations. However, in a 15 April interview with the Iranian Arabic language TV station ‘al Qawthar’, Hizbullah Deputy Secretary-General Naim Kassem, told the interviewer that suicide bombings, terrorist attacks and even artillery barrages against Israeli civilians all receive prior approval from the Ayatollah’s in Teheran:
"The religious doctrine which dictates Hizbullah’s actions in general and those relating to the Jihad in particular, is based on the rulings of the spiritual leader in Teheran. The spiritual leader has the power to permit our actions, and the spiritual leader can forbid them.
"In order to know what is permitted and forbidden regarding the Jihad, we ask for and receive overall permission and only then do we carry out the operation.
“Even with regard to the suicide bombings, no one is allowed to kill himself without religious authorization.
“Even the rocket attacks on Israel, against the civilian population [Aug 2006] … in order to apply pressure, even this required overall religious authorization."h/t Steve Schippert
Geez, maybe we should sit down and have some frank discussions with the Iranians. They are obviously playing above board and only have the best intentions of all peoples
chosen by the 12th Imam at heart. I'm just curious if there are any Middle Eastern countries they aren't causing trouble in. Or even farther abroad maybe?
The report continues: “Recent reporting has described AQI’s Kurdish network in Iran planning what we believe may be a large-scale attack against a western target.
“A member of this network is reportedly involved in an operation which he believes requires AQ Core authorisation. He claims the operation will be on ‘a par with Hiroshima and Naga-saki’ and will ‘shake the Roman throne’. We assess that this operation is most likely to be a large-scale, mass casualty attack against the West.”
So the Al Qaeda in Iraq affiliate based in Iran is going to move beyond killng Iraqis and Americans in Iraq and take the jihad to the infidels. It is nearly impossible to see who gains more from Harry Reid & Nancy Pelosi's shameful actions than the mullahs in Iran with their plans of regional hegemony looking not too shabby and the global terror coop Al Qaeda. Iran picks up a majority-Shia client state and complete immunity from military action by us. Al Qaeda gets a win in direct combat against the American devils, a clean swath of safe havens running from Syria through Iraq and Iran all the way to Afghanistan. Add their near sovereign digs in Waziristan and they are livin' large.
The Dems have no rationale, that withstands even mild scrutiny, for the blatant political plays they are making with our troops lives and our nation's security. It is shameful and they must pay a price. When your party's policy goals align perfectly with Al Qaeda and Iran and are in direct open opposition to the US Commander in Chief's, you ought to check yourself before you wreck yourself. Neither Harry or Nancy has anywhere near that level of common sense.
