One of the bigger discussions going on is whether we are fighting Islam or Islamic terrorists. It becomes increasingly difficulty to differentiate when everywhere we turn there is a Muslim complaining about something that offends them. Now in England there is a Muslim policeman who can't bring himself to well.....

The sad thing is they approved his request. So now the police can choose which citizens they will protect and serve. How long until they have ethnically segregated police? I realize this is England, but FFS if they have lost the ability to function as one civil society and now must carve out a little, but growing, caliphate how far behind are we? I guess next they will decriminalize honor killings and can homosexual stonings be far behind? As the interior ministry said that nearly 2,500 officers had been wounded this year, a police union declared that its members were "in a state of civil war" with Muslims in the most depressed "banlieue" estates which are heavily populated by unemployed youths of north African origin.

Europe shows where the path leads, with it's satellite TV-fed mini caliphates embedded in their major cities. The Islamists have figured out that they were right, we are fundamentally weak. We have "evolved" our civilization to the point where we cannot even condemn someone holding a scimitar to it's neck.

I am not far from simply deciding that this is a religious war, but only one side invokes a god. The West needs to see if our secular civilization can withstand the fanaticism that enforcing the will of your god on earth brings. Far too much of the West doesn't even fathom the seriousness of the Islamists.

What we really need is for the "progressive" left to open their eyes and shed their liberal guilt long enough to figure out that every civil right enjoyed currently would be subject to the will of religious totalitarians. Every feminist in a burqa (well that may be a bad example), Britney Spears in a burqa (still not the best choice), OK I'll cut to the chase, honor killings, forced marriages, death for adultery, stoning for homosexuals. I am stunned that our self-selected moral consciences on the left can come to the conclusion that these barbaric theocrats are motivated by hatred for Bush. I mean even bin Laden states beefs going back thousands of years, and the idea that our foreign policy for the last 50 years awoke a desire to return to the 7th Century is moronic.

For the Islamists there is one simple reality, Dar al Islam (them), Dar al Harb (us), jihad to the finish. Any questions?
