San Fran militia to safeguard city

Apparently the enlightened gentry of San Francisco no longer wish to live under the protection of the US military, I guess they must have a plan to arm their citizenry....wait they banned guns too. Wow, I wonder who will watch over them?

"Voters approved ballot measures to ban handguns in San Francisco and urge the city's public high schools and college campuses to keep out military recruiters....It encourages city officials and university administrators to exclude recruiters and create scholarships and training programs that would reduce the military's appeal to young adults.....The gun ban prohibits the manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition in the city, and makes it illegal for residents to keep handguns in their homes or businesses.....Although law enforcement, security guards and others who require weapons for work are exempt from the measure, current handgun owners would have to surrender their firearms by April."

I have spent a considerable amount of time in San Francisco for work and the ballot measures they passed are the furthest thing from surprising, I assumed the numbers would be more skewed than they were. But that doesn't mean we should let such un-American and disrespectful gestures pass unopposed. Since they are so against not only the tools of the trade, but the very folks who use them to safeguard these indigo blue assjacks, let's stop carrying them along.

There is an awful lot of federal funding currently being wasted saving and enriching the lives of Frisconians that we could certainly redeploy.  As a matter of fact there are a lot of worthwhile projects that are opposed on NIMBY (Not in my back yard) grounds, like oil refineries. I don't see why we can't have a couple built there, they are a port city right? Sounds like a good place to relocate Gitmo, while we are at it, and build an immigration violators processing center there to process all deportations and house the malefactors in an open, tolerant environment. Hey forget Yucca Mountain for nuke waste, San Fran is a stable geological environment isn't it? Boy this opens up all kinds of possibilities, I mean the most we lose is some A+ quality cuisine and I imagine we'll muddle through, but we could dump all kinds of problems on our coastal betters.

I almost hope my local hippies here in Madison, WI "Moscow of the Midwest" get their secessionist game on, that would be some fun.

Culture note: The denizens of "The City", as they prefer to be known, hate San Fran, Frisco and all other bastardizations of their enclave's moniker. So please use these and any other derogatory derivations in all references to San Fran Frisco. Wankers!
