One Last Thought for the Fourth
Happy Birthday, President Bush!

Kerry Picks Edwards

According to Fox News (630AM CST), John Kerry will announce his VP candidate as John Edwards. This is not a good move (for Kerry and Democrats) and won't change the numbers much. Edwards might (ever so slightly) help in the South but not much anywhere else.

Kerry had a chance to really distinguish himself with a VP choice. That's not usually the way it works in the Presidential race, but with Senator Kerry tied with President Bush, you need something different.

That's why he was so aggressive at getting John McCain on his ticket. So his alternate to maverick John McCain was...John Edwards?

He should have begged Hilary to be on the ticket. That definitely would have shook things up.
