Sandy Relief Charities
Over at Dumb Looks Still Free, A Jacksonian has up a list of reputable charities that are helping with Sandy recovery efforts. In making the list, a number of blogs were contacted and I'm disappointed though not surprised at the lack of response. There are posts aplenty in looking at what happened and the aftermath, but where the focus needs to be right now is helping those who need it most.
My own preferences are Team Rubicon, New York City Firefighter Brotherhood Foundation, and Tunnel to Towers. All three have been boots on the ground from almost the minute the winds first began to subside. Take a look at the list, research those that interest you, and do what you can.
Meantime, I'm stealing the list (with permission) and posting it here.
Given by Alphabetical order.
Christian Reformed Church – World Renew
New York City Firefighter Brotherhood Foundation (FB Page)
Our Lady Help of Christians – Staten Island (FB Page)
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
United Methodist Committee on Relief
