In Their Own Words:
British artist and former paratrooper, Derek Eland spent a month in Afghanistan
in 2011 as an official war artist with 16 Air Assault Brigade. He set
up 'Diary Rooms' on the front line and asked soldiers to write a
postcard about their experiences.
He's now started a blog about his time in Afghanistan and is publishing
one handwritten story a day for a year. Please have a look and help spread the word in order to get 'their
words' out there.
