The Next US Navy Ship
After the last ship was named after Congresswoman Giffords, USMC Major (ret) Anthony Milavic writes a letter to the Secretary of the Navy:
Sir:
I respectfully request that the next United States Ship be named for Lieutenant Colonel Stanley J. Wawrzyniak, USMC.
In 2011, this Marine officer was inducted into the United States Army Ranger Hall of Fame--ONLY the second Marine to receive this honor.
Also, in November of that same year, the Legacy Hut, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, California was named for him. That dedication is chronicled at: http://thebutter-cutter.com/A_Ski_Story_.php
Please review the above dedication for the imperatives driving this recommendation.
Semper Fidelis,
Anthony F. Milavic
Major USMC (Ret)
Whole-heartedly concur with Major Milavic. Be sure to hit that link if you don't know the story of LtCol Wawrzyniak (Ski). Send a note of support to the Secretary.
