Tera Dahl on civil-military operations in Afghanistan

Posted By Uncle Jimbo • [April 05, 2011]

Freshly returned from a tour in Afghanistan w/ the American Red Cross and also a previous trip with them to Iraq, Tera Dahl discusses how much good we are accomplishing. Afghanistan has many complicating factors that make peace there a huge challenge including tribalism, terrain, religious oppression and grinding poverty. She talks about what has not been working and some things we can do to actually improve lives. We are finalizing plans for a return trip for her in the next weeks to hopefully report on some successes the Marines have had in empowering villagers.
