Congrats to the Pritzer Military Library!
Pritzker Military Library has been named one of 10 recipients of the 2009 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor for museums and libraries. The annual award, made by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) since 1994, recognizes institutions for outstanding social, educational, environmental, or economic contributions to their communities. The Pritzker Military Library will receive the National Medal at a ceremony to be held in Washington, D.C., including a $10,000 award in recognition of their extraordinary contributions.
And guess what? Friend of the Blackfive guys - Jeremiah Workman - will be a guest next week. Unfortunately, I'll be in Vegas for the Blog World Expo, but here is the detail about attending here in Chicago or via webcast:

An eight-year combat veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Jeremiah Workman was decorated for his actions in Fallujah on December 23, 2004. Leading his platoon through a four-hour firefight to rescue a group of trapped Marines, Workman fought room-to-room, floor-to-floor against two dozen heavily-armed insurgents. Months later, when he was awarded the Navy Cross – the second highest medal for valor – it was intended to honor his courage and gallantry under fire. But it took Workman right back to those desperate moments inside the house, and his fallen brothers...
