On Friendly Fire
When COB6 started his own blog, I had a few friends from the Ranger Batts chime in that they knew who he was. Once I had his name, I also knew who he was.
While some know COB6 from his time as a Sergeant (E7) in Special Operations, I had heard of him as his time as a fellow Lieutenant in Desert Storm.
During a well known friendly fire incident, COB6 and his crew ran to a burning Brad and 113 and pulled out wounded troops on fire. COB6 protected them with his own body as rounds were cooking off all around them. [Edit note: I have never talked to COB6 about this specific incident.]
I had wondered if he was ever going to blog about it. He has - in relation to the Israeli Golani Brigade incident a few days ago. Over at his other blog, This Ain't Hell, COB6 describes what friendly fire is like. Don't watch the video until you've read his own account.
In Memoriam, Cpl. Yosef Muadi, Staff Sgt. Nitai Stern, and Capt. Jonathan Netanel.
