The Auction Takes A Turn

The charity auction on eBay for the Soldiers' Angels Valour-IT fundraiser has just taken a turn -- for the better. If you go check the seller's list, you will note that items from David J. Williams, Dean Ing, and David Weber are now up. You might also notice that at least one of the books donated by David Williams comes with something special...

There are no two ways around the fact that we are not raising the money we need this year. Part is economy, as people are cautious and have cut back on their giving. The auction is a way to give while getting, for yourself or a gift for someone special in your life. In terms of giving, if every reader here will give just one dollar, well, Team Army will exceed it's goal and a good chunk of what hasn't come in this year will be erased. So, please, consider doing just that.

To those that have given this year, my sincere thanks. I can't begin to describe what a difference the laptops and other technology mean to those who get it. It makes a huge difference, and is a very tangible and positive gift to those who most deserve our thanks.

Please, if you have not donated, consider even just a dollar. Five would be great, and no one is going to object to more. But, make that start, for every dollar has a direct and tangible benefit to our wounded and disabled.

Keep in mind, as Matt notes in this post that:

It's a tax-deductible donation and eligible for matching funds from companies who do that sort of thing (see: IRS INFO for proof for the cautious).

The snail mail address for those who'd rather donate that way (be sure to put ARMY in big letters on the check):
