Moderation or Return to Radicalism
We are at a very pivotal point in terms of America's security interests and our foreign policy in general. The Obama was supported by all the major anti-war groups and they are expecting him to deliver what Pelosi and Reid failed miserably at after the 2006 elections, the unconditional withdrawal of our troops from Iraq. Here is the conundrum, we have now won that war but any precipitous actions could derail the fragile peace. MoveOn's many organs including Code Pink want absolutely precipitous action. Damn the Consequences.
It is a major test for the naif who will wear the hat of Commander in Chief next January. He has been wrong on Iraq since his famous speech deep in the belly of the Hyde Park beast in '04. He was arrogant enough to substitute his unfounded personal certainty about Saddam's WMDs over the collective wisdom of all the professional intel agencies tasked with that. Please spare me cries that "He was right". Bullshit. He was wrong to ignore the advice of those we have to trust and instead go with his own gut instinct. What an ignorant way to make the most momentous decisions we face. Hey Barry what does your belly bone say about Ahm-a-nuttah-job? What do your entrails divine about Putin's gargantuan nuke-powered & armed, criminal syndicate? And every vote in the Senate was an attempt to cut, run and lose the war. His vaunted judgment is batting a fantastic .000. Send in the goofy-looking kid with the big ears, he'll HOPE & CHANGE his way to a world of sweetness & light where the milk of human kindness flows through the veins of all. Yeah right!
The question is will Obama move back into the adoring arms of all those radicals who have formed his world view, or will he heed the advice of the serious people on his team who understand that revolution is not the answer. Since Barry already won the biggest prize then we need to see whether he thinks he can be a bigger deal enacting the radical ideas of his soul mates, or will his pragmatic narcissism keep the Ayers-Wright Axis under the bus. I think both of them are appealing to someone like the Obama, it's really just a question of he wants to keep his halo and messiah status, 'cuz if he starts playing nice with the enemies of the left they will turn on him like feral cats on a can of Star Kist.
If he goes back to the teat where he suckled and attempts to fundamentally change this country the way his fellow travelers want to, then I will oppose him completely. I will spare no piece of hyperbolic rhetoric, or bombastic blathering. But I expect the second way as he wants to win a second term and he well knows that a good look at his kitchen cabinet would make most Americans throw up. It will be a balancing act for sure as he will certainly throw some of W's Executive Orders to MoveOn's mobs but I don't see him going full re-distributionist until his second term.
