In the Crosshairs- Brian Bennett & Poags gone wild

Posted By Uncle Jimbo

David Bellavia and I will be running live 1-3 pm eastern Wednesday and you can listen live here, flap your gums in the chat room, and see us in the studio on the webcam.

We will have Brian Bennett who was formerly TIME's Baghdad Bureau Chief and who went on the recent B5 trip to Iraq w/ JD Johannes and LTC Steve Russell. JD and Brian have collaborated on one piece about the business climate in Baghdad that ran on TIME.com and have another they just finished about LTC Russell's return to Tikrit where he played a major role in Saddam's capture.

Then we will discuss the rise of the poag in Iraq now that the war is won. As always when the smoke of combat starts to be replaced by the tapping of keyboards, you get jackass poags like this chump attempting to justify a BS requirement from another chump who hasn't been shot at lately.

"BAGHDAD -- The US military has barred Iraqi interpreters working with American troops in Baghdad from wearing ski masks to disguise themselves, prompting some to resign and others to bare their faces even though they fear it could get them killed.

We are a professional Army and professional units don't conceal their identity by wearing masks," Lt. Col. Steve Stover, a spokesman for the U.S. military, wrote in an e-mail. He expressed appreciation for the service and sacrifice of the interpreters but said those dissatisfied with the new policy "can seek alternative employment."

Also Laughing Wolf has arranged for an amazing bunch of books from the Baen Books authors he has interviewed to be donated for an auction to benefit Valour IT.

Via LGF, the Obama is picking some winners.

Well that was totally unpredictable wasn’t it?

General James L. Jones is widely rumored to be Obama’s preferred candidate to be White House National Security Adviser... Jones prepared a report on Israel’s policies in the territories... The World Tribune said it “blasted Israel’s role” for “hampering the movement of PA forces, blocking plans for weapons shipments and technology to the Palestinians and resisting coordination.” ... Obama said this about Jones: “Let me tell you who I associate with... If I’m interested in figuring out my foreign policy, I associate myself with my running mate, Joe Biden or with Dick Lugar...or General Jim Jones, the former supreme allied commander of NATO.”

Totally, totally unpredictable:

John Brennan... is rumored to be Obama’s pick to head the CIA. Brennan published a long article on Iran in July 2008... "... U.S. national security would be best served if Washington publicly acknowledged and explored the roots of this shift in Iranian state support for terrorist activities ... the new U.S. administration must be willing to exercise strategic patience....It would not be foolhardy, however, for the United States to tolerate, and even to encourage, greater assimilation of Hezbollah into Lebanon’s political system.

Vorpal Blade by John Ringo and Travis S. Taylor (autographed by Travis S. Taylor only).
