Cheers for Heroes

First, there's a Chicago Hero that some of you know about and the rest should meet...SPC Sergio Lopez (and CJ wrote about him here and here - CJ's A Soldier's Perspective is under maintenance right now so check back later). 

The Wounded Heroes Foundation is an awesome organization local to Chicago and Cheers for Heroes is the annual fund raising event (at a fine establishment that I have frequented for decades - The Boss Bar).  As you can imagine in a place like Chicago, vets who return here might not get the same support as they would in a military town or a more rural place where everyone knows who you are.

Well, we have some great supporters here - one of whom is NBC5 anchor Anna Davlantes - and is a friend of ours working on this charity event.  If you are in the Chicago area, please consider coming to Cheers for Heroes.  If you can't make it, you can also donate online to Cheers for Heroes here (please put "Cheers for Heroes" in the Comment section of the donation form) or send a check to:
