A Good Take On Hurricane Preparedness
Hurricane, earthquakes, and political earthquakes, oh my! There may be flooding in areas not normally prone to it with all the progressive little heads exploding faster than a MoveOn supporter's at a Ted Nugent concert; and, along with real problems it is another good Saturday to think about preparedness.
My friend Val Prieto has his own inimitable take on hurricane preparedness up and it is well worth the read. Seem to recall that he had some experiences a while back with those major, major thorns...
Recently, some people I know socially benefitted from some preparedness discussed here. One of them had a massive stroke. With the wonders of modern medicine, that person could have been kept "alive" for months or years, even though critical portions of the brain were gone. Thankfully, they had talked about it, made plans, and the decisions that needed to be made were made according to the stroke victim's wishes. Remember, preparedness is a way of life, not just having a flashlight when you need it.
