Things That Make You Go Hmmmmm

Given that there is a wealth of political blogging already ongoing, I wasn't going to get into any of it -- until someone sent me a recent edition of the Allen West for Congress Newsletter. Some of you may remember that name, for it was a Lt. Col. Allen West who generated some controversy within some circles for his unusual interrogation of a suspect in Iraq, said interrogation breaking up a plot to attack his men. His career ended, but men saved, he decided to run for Congress in Florida's 22nd District. The following caught my eye almost immediately:

Most of you by now have heard that Al Jazeera offered to send a car for Allen and take him to an unknown location for a news interview.. Needless to say, their approach had an eerie ring to it and we politely declined.

You really do have to wonder, and I know what my reaction would be to an offer to pick me up at night and not tell me where I was going...
