For those interested, Scott Beauchamp is back in the news here in an article penned by a former TNR staffer, which is also the subject of a rather, er, interesting Gawker piece. The take he and his wife offer is not surprising, though I had hoped for something better than a mean Army, a betrayal by Foer, and an evil right-wing-smear-machine led by Goldfarb. Funny, I always thought that Rove was in charge...

You know, I had a much longer post written, but he really isn't worth it.

Not one person in his unit came to me and said that what he wrote was true, or even defended what he did and what he wrote. Several made a point of saying he was good at his duties, but pretty much stopped right there. Blackfive and I offered him an out via the opportunity to come clean here on Blackfive. If it was true, as a buddy of his told me, that his wife was being used as leverage against him by TNR, we would get that out and we would back him if he came clean about everything. He was also provided Blackfive's contact info for use as a mentor independent of that. Neither option was pursued, though time and opportunity were provided.

Frankly, this is more coverage than he deserves. As I noted at the time, he was already peripheral to the story of COP Ellis. I will go further and say that he isn't worth the pimple on the butt of the men who paid the blood price for that COP. Their's is a story I have delayed too long in telling.

If you want something of import, go listen to the audio files I've been posting of late. Read the other stories I posted in September and October of last year. Stay tuned for more audio interviews that tell real stories about the COP and and more.

Forget Scott Beauchamp, and take anything other than his driving a Brad with several pounds of salt.

Ignore him. The real story lies elsewhere.
