Someone You Should Meet: Sgt Gus

Posted By Laughing_Wolf

When I did my first embed, I had lots of plans -- none of which included having a brand new power supply for a brand new laptop die my first day in Iraq. Since a new one couldn't reach me in time, or rather it didn't (my thoughts on Apple's response to the problem are left to your imagination, lame though it probably is), so I thought I would save up stuff and do it later.

Well, it's later. Much later. Many other things happened after that first embed, and despite the openness of current society, not all are for public consumption. One of the few things I will say is that I do hope that my family discontinues the tradition of a death every time I get home (almost to the day and time I get back), and I note for the record that having the second one be natural causes did not make it better.

That said, I owe the guys more than a simple apology, but the words "I'm Sorry" are all I have. That, and I owe it to get out what I can. That said, here is the next in the series that I started many months ago, and here is Sgt. Gus, Sgt. Christopher David Gustafson, Echo Company (Team Easy), COP Ellis, in his own words.

Aside from a missed wake-up call *G* he was was a pleasure and someone I will remember. Enjoy.
