A tad bit more decorum please

I love the irony of me calling for that, but ambassador of highly-charged rhetoric that I am here we go.

One of my favorite things about Blackfive is the interesting arguments that go on in our comments. I like to start a scrap and see where it goes. Our readers have a wide array of experiences and expertise and I often learn quite a bit. To all of you who make that happen, I commend you.

But then we get people like the Irish Douche. Yeah i'm calling you out by name again, and let's remind everyone just why I ended up the target of your petty tirades. You poked up to commend me for standing up for Dave Bellavia when he was called a racist, but you went down the "white" roots path which to me is the same black America BS we heard from Obama's preacher.

This is exactly why we need John McCain! If we get little B.H Obama we will have to deal with this P.C crap everyday of our lives. What's wrong with me being proud of my white roots? Whats wrong with John McCain being a proud WHITE vet? Thank you Uncle J and Blackfive for being one of the few voices that stand up for our rights.

The only sports heroes I would let my kids idolize would be likes of Babe Ruth or Larry Bird. Nowadays you got these black athletes rapping and raping and shooting each other. Black or white, who wants their kids following these losers? It's no surprise that little B.H Obama's sport of choice is basketball. I wonder what kind of hate spewing rap band the Dhimmicrats will have at the inauguration. Lets pray we can overcome this threat to our beliefs and get OUR vet elected.

Look at the basketball culture. You have Rasheed Wallace who says F#@!K Bush. You have Kobe Bryant raping a white girl and getting away with it. The list goes on and on. Babe Ruth was a fat white guy who could drink a twelve pack before each game and still be the best player ever. I ask again why should I be ashamed of my white roots? Why should I be ashamed of white vets? There are very very few white Muslims in the U.S and yet there are millions of black Muslims. They can have their Tiger Woods. I'll take McCain over that culture any day.

You cross a line with me as soon as you start talking about black athletes. If you want to abhor the conduct of an athlete, feel free, but when you add his race to the equation that is BS to me. That is as wrong as the left throwing race into an analogy about athletes v. war heroes.

Race has no business in just about any discussion of Americans, and anyone who uses it in an argument from either side has just lost my attention.

Feel proud of your roots, don't feel required to make them "white" roots. I prefer to hate people for their own faults not their membership in an identifiable sub-group of humanity. Which brings me back to your tantrum.

After I asked for some couth, you decided, screw Uncle J, or Hanson as you like to call me. And I guess you had some other douche run my name through AKO or a VA system, figured out I am who I am but still began making all kinds of "sassing your betters"-type statements about my career. Let's be straight here, you don't know me or anyone who does know me, so spare us all your feeble attempts to insult me. You also like to bleat that I have called you a fraud. That is a lie. I have not and I honestly don't give enough of a shit about you to pay attention to what you were or are. The only reason I am jack-slapping you publicly is to serve as an object lesson on the perils of douchebaggery and to keep our comments out of the petty "come kick my ass then" gutter you like to lie in. That is lame and actually pretty boring. Oh and Kev said if you can't control yourself he is perfectly willing to deliver the ass-whipping you so desperately have been asking for. See now you have me down there as well.

It's real simple, if you would like to join the arguments on substance, then do it. If you just want to talk smack, then f**k off now and avoid the rush.

That is really all it boils down to, because we are trying to something positive here and while I certainly reign in the name-calling category, I argue the substance. If you want a good example of how to serve as the loyal opposition, Sparky (Mr. Sparkles) is a good example. He is a pain in the ass lefty, but he makes that team's arguments on the merits, and he is good at pointing weaknesses, real or perceived, in the other team's arguments.

I am not an ideologue and I have no idea that I hold unassailable. If my argument can't stand up to scrutiny or the facts I will let it go. I live in the Mad City so I am never more than 50 feet from a deranged lefty to argue with. But the game is no fun if it gets petty, so play nice everybody. I singled out IC because he was attempting to piss on my leg, but there are others, on all sides, who ought to tighten up their shot group as well.
