The Good Side of Hollywood
Too often we hear of hollywood actors and directors that are crazy left-wing anti-military types...we hear of them because they take the spotlight to espouse their views (often, unasked).
This post is about the others who are often unheralded in their support of the military. You military types know of Gary Sinise, who seems to be everywhere these days supporting the military. Jon Voight, John Ratzenberger, James Caan, Robin Williams, James McEachin, Ben Stein, Denzel Washington, Robert Duvall - as you can see, not all are from the Right, and they support the military, anyway.
At the GI Film Festival, I opened my little part on the milblog panel and talked about going to visit some wounded friends at Walter Reed...and always ended up visiting them an hour or two behind Bo Derek. Yeah, after getting a visit from her, my pals were not exactly too thrilled to see me..."Hey Matt, go find Bo and ask her to come back." I know she visited many times.
And she's not the only one.
This post at Libertas was sent by Michael and has photos of a military support event that was attended by some supportive actors. You'll also see some good friends of ours there like Jeff Bader of Soldiers Angels.
Sound off in the Comments about someone in Hollywood that should be recognized for their support.
P.S. Don't forget that "Outside the Wire", the documentary about our troops in Iraq, is on the way to beating the receipts that anti-military film "Redacted" took in...get a copy today.
