The GI Film Festival
Spent the weekend in DC in order to attend the GI Film Festival. Was able to meet up with some good friends - first up was JD Johannes of Outside the Wire. It seems that Outside the Wire is pushing hard to outsell Redacted (they are 55% of the way there already).
Jeff Emmanuel of RedState and I joined JD to provide commentary for the Extras section of the video. JD had to do more than one take because I kept asking him if he was @#$%ing crazy...AQI bullets were hitting about 2 feet over his head.
And I finally met David Bellavia and Jeremiah Workman. Bellavia had the best line of the night. He was a bit shocked that my evil genius is so profound that even Uncle Jimbo's rants have become more coherent over time.
Bellavia has written the best first person narrative about combat that I have ever read.
And David Bellavia is running for Congress. Click here to find out how to support him.
And last, I was on a panel that was led by Andi of SpouseBuzz on Sunday. Chuck and Carren Ziegenfuss joined me to discuss GIs and the media. The room was full and we were able to meet a lot of really great people.
Here's a Military Times write up of our panel.
Thanks to the GI Film Festival for giving us the opportunity to share our views!
