On the Beach
Here's why I haven't been posting very much:

It has been mostly rain and clouds here on Estero Island (Ft. Myers Beach), but it sure beats the hell out of this photo from Laughing Wolf:

Anyway, posting from me will continue to be few and far between for the next week (as I am experimenting with Mojitos - the trick is to gently crush the mint).

Willing to forgive the obvious “rubbing it in” regarding those of us still stuck in winter mode in exchange for pics of hotties in bikinis…err, patriotic members of the fairer sex dressed appropriately for the beach.

You rock bro! Family rules!
Please feel free to have one for me while enjoying the scenery.
The key IS to gently crush the mint....

Definitely experiment with the mojitos. We want a full report.
P5 is getting so big!
In the great northeast we have sun, but it is NOT swimsuit weather. I'm still waiting for that promised global warming.

I just need to note that the photo and poster were done by my friend Waldo in Chicago. I agree though, it is just wrong to see it still trying to snow here... Meantime, I very much look forward to my mint bed bursting forth again soon.

Good God, man. Why would you experiment when you have only to consult the expert, Homefront 6.

I once referred to Mom as Household Six in front of her. Dad laughed, and so did I until Household Six whacked me with a wooden pasta scoop.

Matt:
Just tell them, "It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it and that the kind of guy I am!"
Cheers,

If you like Italian there's a pretty good place called Vincenzo's (sp?) right where Bonita Beach Road hits the water at the South end of the island, and a place called Chloe's (sp?) that's in a hotel at the north end of the island shortly before you cross over the bridge toward Fort Myers.
I also recommend Parrot Key for lunch which is just over the bridge toward Fort Meyer and make a right (I think at the stoplight). Nice waterside place with good atmosphere and good food.
Semper Fi!

Hey, what's wrong with snow?? Spring skiing is the best.
Enjoy your time with the family, Matt.

Hi Matt,
I am just south of you....in Naples. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family.
Easter Sunday was indeed a beautiful day.
I am not "rubbing it in." I am just being honest and truthful. Rub. Rub.

Mojitos eh???? I'll be in Gulf Shores Alabama next week, I'll have to try Mojitos, send me all the tips you can. We will be sure to hit the museum at NAS Pensacola too.....
Teresa,
Me too, I shoveled about 8-10 inches of global warming off my driveway last weekend.....

Welcome to our state, B5! I always tell my Yankee friends after they've spent a few hours shoveling snow (instead of the other stuff a different color) that I had it pretty rough outside too: Had to trim the palm trees and wax the alligator! :)
Just remember, a bad day in Florida is still better than a good day anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon line ;)

Yep, you had me at "Pinkfive" I love it! Hope you are having fun. Lived in FL once, hated it! Now that I am moving to Chicago, it will be like those frigid NE winters. I would much rather my seasons and take the FL vacation like you are doing. Uh-huh. That's the ticket.

Blackfive;
I couldn't agree with you more. In fact after the nasty winter we had in DC back in '96, I decided that winter is for the birds (well, maybe penquins) and made the move to Arizona. I have never regretted it. Now, when people start complaining about their weather in February, I have to stop them to tell them I'm going out for a round of golf:-)
Hey, you can't shovel sunshine:-)
Enjoy!!!!
Cheers,
Steve O.

Hope you all had a blessed Easter! Matt, I'm in Apollo Beach with Mom this year. Damn, it's cold in these parts this year!
