Terrorism by Muslim fanatics was yesterday re-named "anti-Islamic activity"

The Home Secretary said that - rather than acting in the name of Islam - they were behaving contrary to their faith.

Her words were chosen carefully to reflect new Government strategy on the language used to describe fanatics.

Security officials believe that directly linking terrorism to Islam is inflammatory, and risks alienating mainstream Muslim opinion.

In her first major speech on radicalisation, Miss Smith repeatedly used the phrase "anti-Islamic".

One passage said: "As so many Muslims in the UK and across the world have pointed out, there is nothing Islamic about the wish to terrorise, nothing Islamic about plotting murder, pain and grief. Indeed, if anything, these actions are anti-Islamic".

Another referred to enlisting the Muslim community against "anti-Islamic activity".

It follows a decision taken last year to stop using the phrase 'war on terror', first adopted by US President Bush.

All right so now I am supposed to lose my mind and go off on one of my epic rants right? Except pitiful, weak, appeasing and sorry as this looks, it is a step in the right direction. Everybody wants to know how we can get the ever-elusive moderate Muslims engaged in fighting the terrorists. It is accurate to call the scum who blow themselves and others up at what they say are the wishes of their god, terrorists, but it does not help us enlist those who name the same god but don't feel obligated to kill those who disagree.

Now everybody who is jumping to the comments to call me a wanker, just chill!

Of course it is Brit, girly-man, emasculated, PC BS. Duh, but every once in a blue moon that can be useful. We can decide that we have the right to call terrorists Islamo-fascists and the rest of the Muslims better just suck it up, accept the truth and help us out. But does that actually get us any closer to getting them to rat out the weasels amongst them. Not so far it hasn't. So are we allowed to try something else?

If we call them Anti-Islamic we offer the other Muslims a golden opportunity to put their money where their whining about being tarred with the terror brush mouths are. Feel free to be skeptical about whether they will pony up and accept the opportunity, but take a second and think about this, and don't insult me by claiming I am making a moral equivalence between terror claimed in the name of Allah and the very few instances of terror in the name of Jesus. There is absolutely no comparison as nuttahs for Allah are exponentially greater, but think about the effect of blaming the religion for the religionist's actions.

Eric Rudolph blew up abortion clinics because he was sure Jesus wanted him to. If we had wanted true moderate Christians to help us find that scumbag, would we get more help calling him a Christo-fascist or an Anti-Christian?

UPDATE: Rusty at the Jawa Report has a perfect example of what the moderates need to raise up and denounce. If not then, my outreach efforts can easily change to payback's a medevac.
