Bill Whittle Connects the Dots - the late John Boyd and the Surge

Posted By Blackfive

My favorite essayist, Bill Whittle, posted an essay called FORTY SECOND BOYD AND THE BIG PICTURE.

You Zoomies probably know that John Boyd was an Air Force fighter pilot who's ideas on Maneuver Warfare have been revolutionary (for all services, not just the Air Force). Bill wrote the essay because he believes that some of the success we are seeing with the Surge is because of the OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act) principles Boyd outlined. As an analysis / synthesis study, this is some of Bill's best work.

Bill's essays are somewhat lengthy but always worth the time spent witnessing him connect the dots like no one else I've ever read.

Go check it out.
