Thanks B5! Loved it!
22 years ago today I lost a great friend who died in a plane crash with 247 other 101st Airborne Division soldiers, and 8 crew, at Gander Newfoundland.
I miss you "Bert"
(Virgil L. Robertson Jr of Spencer, Ind). I will not forget you.
Love,
SGT Cook

That looks very similar to the gesture used in the Arab world to denote respect of the person you are meeting. I have noticed more and more film clips from Iraq showing our soldiers and leaders using this gesture when meeting with the local leaders in the Iraqi community.

Beautiful. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I'm on the road a great deal here in L.A. Every time I see a car on the freeway with military stickers on it (usually military family), I've wanted to show them gratitude- now I know how. Thanks B5 for spreading the word, and a big thanks to Op Gratitude.

I also loved this quote at the website:
"It's a sign of mediocrity when you demonstrate gratitude with moderation." -Roberto Benigni

This is good. I'm passing it around as well as posting it.
Thanks.

Excellent new tradition! Like the "you're welcome" too.
Early in this new war, while flying, I found the Captain's anouncement that there were troops aboard headed east pretty cool. Especially when the whole planefull erupted in applause. As we disembarked we were patting those superb soldiers on the back. They did seem a bit unconfortable with the attention and I am sure a lot was on their minds. They seemed so modest.
And they are doing such great things not only in service to thier country but in service to this world.
Oh, how I love them!
Salaam eleikum, Y'all! Merry Christmas! Happy Hannukah!
