Dec 7, 1941

66 years now.  Those 18 and 19 and 20 year old brand new sailors are in their mid 80's.  We're losing them faster now, that part of our history, that part of our national culture, our backbone, than ever before.

They are our national treasure.  Those once-young men and women who, to the tune of millions, dropped whatever they were doing,  on the farms, in the universities, in high school, some younger, to go fight.

If you have the chance, find a WW2 vet and thank them.  That's all you have to do.  They left their homes, their jobs, their universities, their high schools, their families, everything to go fight, all over the world, for the freedom we have today.

Find a vet and thank them.  You may not have the opportunity again.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived. --Gen George S. Patton
