Project Valour-IT: What It Means

Posted By Laughing_Wolf
I want to thank everyone involved in the program that provides Soldiers with laptops; Soldier's Angels brought me one, and i can't begin to tell how much it has changed my stay at WRAMC; i am able to correpond with my Soldiers, and my family. My Soldiers are still down range in Iraq. they are coming home soon, and i look forward to being back at my post to receive them. again, thanks you so much.

In my previous post, I stood up for a promise I made recently at Walter Reed. For every Valour-IT recepient who e-mails or leaves a comment telling what the computers have meant to them and why, I will be making a donation. Read that above once again -- and then read:

At that time I had no use of either hand. I know how humbling it is, how humiliating it feels. And I know how much better I felt, how amazingly more functional I felt, after Soldiers' Angels provided me with a laptop and a loyal reader provided me with the software. I can't wait to do the same, to give that feeling to another soldier at Walter Reed." - Captain Chuck Ziegenfuss at TC Override (wounded in Iraq)

Dig deep. We have a long way to go, and a short time to ge there. Since no one has taken up the other offer I made, how about this: I am going through my photos from the embed, with an eye towards prints. What would you, our readers and funders of my embed, say to a personalized and signed print (8x10 or 11x14) for a confirmed donation of $500 or more? I can put up some candidates for prints and let you tell me which one. Just a thought...

Meantime, please help.

Giving laptops to wounded soldiers. Sounds very nice, huh? Gives you the warm-fuzzies just because it's a nice thing to do. But you're giving them so much more than just a laptop. I want to thank everyone involved in the... [Read More]
