But if you read the NYT columnist Thomas L. Friedman, 9/11 is 'over'. Or more accurately, the United States should get over 9/11 and start acting like 9/12.

This 'apologist' doesn't get it- 9/11 will NEVER be 'over' until every last ~~terrorist~~ Radical Islamist with designs on coming to the US and force us back into the 12th century is dead and gone. Mr. Friedman seems to think we can or should just 'move on' (pun intended). Then he seems to try to link our current status with his terrible cell service:

I still can’t get uninterrupted cellphone service between my home in Bethesda and my office in D.C. But I recently bought a pocket cellphone at the Beijing airport and immediately called my wife in Bethesda — crystal clear.

WTH does this havta do with 9/11? As an IT exec, I could go into his 'problem' in minute detail, but it wouldn't help...

What he and others like him STILL FAIL TO UNDERSTAND is the threat against us, who they REALLY are, and what their belief system is- they cannot fully grasp it- and that we CANNOT just 'will' it away, and we are not about to alter their belief systems with a new Visa program.

Last July, Microsoft, fed up with American restrictions on importing brain talent, opened its newest software development center in Vancouver. That’s in Canada, folks.

Uh, bud, last I checked, back when MS was looking into opening up that center about 3 years ago, the US-Canadian exchange rate was a LOT different than it is now, and it was an ECONOMIC reason, not some 'brain drain' reason- and Vancouver is a nice afternoon drive rather than flying to/from India or Malaysia so often. But you wouldn't understand this...

Al Qaeda is about 9/11. We are about 9/12, we are about the Fourth of July — which is why I hope that anyone who runs on the 9/11 platform gets trounced.

Al Qaeda is more than 9/11. It is '93. It is 1999. It is far more than you are willing or seemingly able to grasp.

I, for one, will NOT vote for someone who is going to come off as 'bygones be bygones' over 9/11. Far from it. While Mr. Friedman laments all the visitors who haven't come to the US for our seemingly archaic Visa and visitation requirements:

“the U.S. entry process has created a climate of fear and frustration that is turning away foreign business and leisure travelers and hurting America’s image abroad.” Those who don’t visit us, don’t know us.

While it is more difficult to visit with new regulations, we are STILL easier to visit than most of the countries I have traveled to- FAR easier (and I have over 27 countries stamped in my passport- most several times).

No, 9/11 isn't 'over'. Far from it...
