Good Morning America in Fallujah

Posted By Uncle Jimbo

Our good friend Sgt DeBoard from RCT-6 sends this mildly surprising note and video.

Gents,

Attached is a clip of ABC out with RCT-6. They're almost breathless in reporting the truth: how smoothly things are going in Fallujah. Other media outlets who shall be left unnamed have had the same opportunity to report this, walking through the market district of the city just like ABC did, and didn't report this adequately.

Things went so well, in fact, the reporter said, jokingly, he was afraid things were staged because they went so well. Nothing staged about it. Fallujah is a real city now. They're getting their footing financially
at this point, of course, but things are looking up. Even things like street lights in the city, newly installed, are making the point. I hope you find some opportunity to run this. I think a lot of your readership who no longer participate in the "MSM" can find some solace in the fact that when they actually come out to where the rubber meets the road, the unvarnished truth comes out.

Outstanding report!!I know a young marine who was there in 04,even back then the marines were determined to bring freedom and safety to the fallujans.Sgt S.R. Williamson my nephew and RCT-8 along with all the other soldiers should be proud, they have taken a god forsaken city and turned it into a city all Iraq can look at and see the light. For all the asshats who have been saying it couldn't be done and the war was lost, you should be ashamed.God Bless all our soldiers and their families.Job Well Done Gentlemen and Thank You Semper Fi

Sodium Penathol all around.

This is certainly a great story for two reasons. First, it's evidence of the wonderful job our military and Col Simcock in particular has done in Iraq kicking AQI's sorry ass. Second, ABC decided they could no longer afford to lie about the real conditions that exist now.

One organization (I refuse to call them a newspaper) the New York Times has not yet learned this important lesson. I started shorting their stock at $24.50. When they hit $18.25 yesterday, Morgan Stanley dumped their 7.2% position. Rupert Murdoch is poaching their advertisers for the Wall Street Journal. Previously, I held that they would bottom at $16.00. I'm revising that down to $14.50.

Perhaps CBS, NBC and even CNN will get the idea. It's not good to lie about the news. Read 'em and weep.

Is this a great country, or what?

Arch

Yep. This is a great country.

To me, the real signs of victory are that we're seeing reports like this on ABC. I had faith in our military, it was here at home that worried me. I'm starting to feel downright optimistic.

"the New York Times has not yet learned this important lesson. I started shorting their stock at $24.50. When they hit $18.25 yesterday, Morgan Stanley dumped their 7.2% position."
*slaps forehead* Why didn't I think of that? 'Damn, Arch- you're a genius.

And the Old Grey Hag, from what searching I've done, has YET to report on the awarding of the Medal of Honor to Lt. Michael Murphy.

The New York Times -- where, almost every day, thousands of trees die for a lie.

"Things went so well, in fact, the reporter said, jokingly, he was afraid things were staged because they went so well".

They went so well because of the lions of Fallujah...you dipshit reporter!

God bless all the loins of Fallujah and RIP
Major Doug Zembiec,

Im late to this thread but one thing caught my eye in the video.

At about 42 seconds left the Marines were giving out soccer balls to a child.

What caught my eye was the flags on the soccer ball.

There was a big flap in Afghanistan a while back about similar soccer balls given out which had one of the flags had an image of Allah on it and the $hit hit the fan over that one.

Hope these aren't left overs from that batch.
