Catholics are the new Muslims?

I am among the loudest voices whenever Muslims start whinging that someone has affronted one of their poobahs or holy book of jihad leading to a Caliphate ruled by the gentle Sharia law peace. I say hush people you have no right to not be offended, you simply have the right to practice your religion. If people want to mock it, tough Shiite. Well Kathry Jean Lopez ,Catholc extraorinaire (I was confirmed one several eons earlier), points out that the Catholic League's Bill Donohue is sounding particularly CAIR like in his hurt feelings, well actually she was praising the childish censor.

Wins a victory  over Kathy Griffin's mouth.

UPDATE: He's still going for an apology .

Comedienne Kathy Griffin hurt Bill's feelings and caused offense to the body Catholic with these remarks:

"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus," an exultant Griffin said, holding up her statuette. "Suck it, Jesus. This award is my god now."

Asked about her speech backstage a short time later, an unrepentant Griffin added, "I hope I offended some people. I didn't want to win the Emmy for nothing."

Now Bill's problem is that she couldn't say that about Mohammed, or Allah and he's right. But instead of then doing the right thing and remembering that we live in America and Kathy Griffin is free to ask Jesus to suck it, nope Bill gets on the grievance train and degenerates to CAIR's level.

"It is a sure bet that if Griffin had said, 'Suck it, Muhammad,' there would have been a very different reaction," Catholic league president Bill Donohue said in a statement posted on the group's Web site. He called on TV academy president Dick Askin to denounce Griffin's "hate speech" and on Griffin to apologize.

What a jackass move Bill. Jesus can take it and it was certainly not hate speech. She's a freakin' comedienne who specializes in offending people. Congrats Bill, great self control and way to stand up for free speech.

Just a note to all the faithful folks who read this blog. I think my thoughts on God are well known, my jury is still out, but I'm cool with any faith that doesn't get bossy about what their God wants me to do. My thoughts on religious intolerance are equally well known and I don't tolerate it. Grow up Mr. Donohue, if your God is a mighty God, don't you think he can handle a little Kathy Griffin. Oh and Kathy I heard you are single now, call me.
