Military Medicine Conference/Course July 23-24
Got this email and thought this would be something some of you might want to attend:
I'm a research associate at National Defense University. I'm helping put together a free two-day course on military medicine at Fort McNair, July 23-24.
<...>
We're focusing on head trauma (for instances there are some as-yet poorly understood effects from IEDs unrelated to overpressure), pain management, prosthetics, PTSD, and battlefield surgery. We have doctors with battlefield experience (OIF, OEF, Desert Shield/Storm), high-level policymakers, and high level commanders, so it promises to be a good conference.I think a lot of the guys that read your site might be interested in the course - for instance MG Schoomaker, the new two-star in charge of Walter Reed, will be speaking. One of the doctors with on-the-ground experience handled the first mass-casualty event of the OEF 600 miles from the next echelon of care. Plus, it's a free course, and unclassified - all are welcome to attend (non-attribution policy applies).
I set up a blog for the course, so far it has two posts - the invitation:

And the agenda with a list of speakers:
