The great immigration train wreck of 2007

Posted By Uncle Jimbo

Last week a deal was struck on immigration and the reaction was outrage about amnesty. Really?

Did anyone really think we were gonna give twelve million people the boot. Seriously, does anyone really believe you could assemble the political will to attempt this let alone the stomach as a country to watch the families being shredded on the nightly news. So we were never going to crack down and punish all the people we invited here by leaving our borders wide open and then allowing all kinds of industries to hire them as cheap labor.

We were gonna have some kind of amnesty all along, so why howl about an inevitability? Now that we caved on that can we at least start on securing the damn borders?
