The fight in Afghanistan

Posted By Blackfive

From a friend and NCO in Afghanistan, comes this email.  His team has had to fight and kill more than a few Al Qaeda trained Taliban insurgents.

...We have many Taliban acronyms; AGE, ACM, or OMF.  I just call them DAI's (Dumb-Ass Insurgents).  The men that are convincing these men to come here to fight me and the government forces of Afghanistan should be ashamed of what they are doing. The death of the young men we kill rests directly on the shoulders of these evil men and that alone should be enough to reserve the demented leaders of their misguided cause a room in Hell.  They poison them against the cause of freedom for the people of Afghanistan.  I just don't get it.  I suppose I never will.

Because I get the news from all over the world here on my firebase, I see that, once more, the successes of what we are doing (establishing the government, helping the people when we can etc.) escapes the Mainstream Media and the loonies from places like MoveOn.org and Daily Kos.  I am in touch with people from USAID and some other NGOs who are attempting to build a road in our area that would link one of the towns in our area that is a Taliban stronghold to the district center and the center of the commerce in our area.  I have gotten a bid from a contractor, who we know in the area, and when the new guys get here, they will get to see the project through.

Evidently, it also eludes the likes of Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha, who seem to think the "real" war on terror is only here in Afghanistan.  I've got a news flash for those two morons; the War on Terror is wherever Al-Qaeda is or the Taliban hang out.  When they try to move against American interests, we are going to be there waiting for them...

There's a lot more but I'm waiting for permission to post the rest.
