Further complications from getting hit by an IED have JR Salzman undergoing surgery to amputate his ring finger today at Walter Reed. [Sidenote: JR's wife, Josie, did not want him to wear his wedding band in Iraq, but JR would not take it off. The explosion caused the ring to damage the nerves around the finger and joint.]
Thoughts, prayers, comments and emails for JR and Josie are appreciated.
If you wonder about the effects of your support, Andi describes the results accurately here. Every card, letter, email, comment makes a huge difference. When I talked with JR last week, it was obvious to me the positive effect you all had on him.
Thank you.
