At all Costs

Posted By Blackfive

I've included the outline of the President's plan for Iraq in the post below about Ted Kennedy and LTG Petraeus.  While I'm cautiously optimistic about our chances for success, Al Qaeda and Sadr and Iran and Syria and everyone-else-against-a-free-Iraq will adapt to the plan.  In other words, no plan ever survives the battlefield.  We know that and we must be more adaptable than our enemies.  That's where I have faith in Petraeus.  Whatever his lesser qualities, the man is quick on his feet.

Just thought that I'd mention that if it doesn't work, we must protect the Kurds at all costs.  We've been partners and friends for some time now.  We owe 'em.  We've lost some friends in order to keep them safe.  We can't let the sacrifices that have been made be lost.

So, if Iraq goes completely to hell, we cannot, must not, abandon the Kurds.
