9/11 truthers & Clintonistas in the crosshairs

Although I doubt it will dent the tinfoil much, it has still been a rough patch for the 9/11 truthers and supporters of the Clinton administration. I mean they were on a roll with local fruitcake Kevin Barrett leading the charge for the respectability of silliness, but then all kinds of actual truth started popping up.

First we see video of bin Laden hanging out with a couple of the 9/11 hijackers, and it wasn’t FOX News who released it, it was Al-Jazeera. Now I assume the truthers will simply add Al-Jaz to the conspiracy, I mean that isn’t too much of a stretch. Maybe it is a subsidiary of FOX, yeah that’s the ticket.

Then NBC tracks down drone video footage from 2000, well before 9/11 that shows bin Laden waltzing around with his entourage that the Clinton adminstration got in real time. Now this was after the Embassy bombings in Africa, after the first WTC bombing, and after the USS Cole was hit, all by Al Qaeda, so what was the Clintonian response? Maybe next time.

On top of this ABC has a miniseries that follows the completely feckless response of Clinton’s national security team to 8 years of provocation by bin Laden and AQ. The Clintonistas are predictably appalled at having the inherent weakness of the current Democrat party on national defense so brutally exposed. They have been coasting on nostalgic feel good memories of peace and prosperity when the stock market soared, there was a Hummer in every driveway, and people worldwide loved us. Except the internet bubble burst draining away all that faux-prosperity, as it turned out we weren’t actually at peace we were just failing to act as our enemies continued to attack us, and trust me nobody loved us then either.

Ah well at least they can point to the quagmire in Iraq and show that things haven’t gotten any better. W has two more years to tie up some things and then we shall see.
