Hatemail and Greatmail

Been getting lots of hatemail lately (mostly because of my bombastic blog brother) but I get tons of greatmail too.  It all balances out.  Here's a few of the more recent ones:

Thank you for all your work.  I always read the sections "Someone You Should Know" and cry......

I have also used some of those articles in my 7th grade reading classes so that the kids could see who and what a real hero is.

Dear Matthew/ Blackfive,

I just learned about your website from an avid Blog reader and mother of one Marine...soon to be two Marines.  She is intelligent and active in conservative ideology.

I was upset by all the negative press coming out about Haditha.  Since 3/1 was my former unit (in 1978-1980) I was especially upset.

Your blogs however, were uplifting.  Finally, here was a newscenter (Blog) that gave the other side of the story.

Thanks for your great site; I didn't know about it until today, but this evening I was talking online with a LT who got his commission last year from [college deleted] ROTC (he's now a rifle company XO with the 1-22 Infantry in Baghdad) and he told me he checks the site every morning after getting back from raids. My cousin loves it too -- he just finished up four years with the 3-6 Marines (two tours in Afghanistan) and he's been reading it since '04. So thanks for what you're doing -- all the servicemembers I know really appreciate it, and so do I.
