Rep. Murtha still running his mouth
John "Cut & Run" Murtha adds to his shame by convicting US Marines of a massacre before the investigation is even done.
MATTHEWS: Was this My Lai? When you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you're basically saying you've got some civilians sitting in a room or out in a field and they're executed on purpose...
MURTHA: That's exactly what happened.
Well Murtha's stock with the left ought to go up a few more notches as he proves he is a swine. Bad enough he has been wrong in calling for a withdrawal from Iraq, but this former Marine now has thrown some current Marines under the bus.
It is sad to see someone become deranged enough that their zeal to attack this administration and the Iraq war outweighs their common decency. The atrocity he is convicting these Marines of committing is under investigation and foolish old windbags like Murtha ought to remain shut up until it is completed. If there was a massacre, I trust the military to deal with it.
I think it shows how lost the anti-war crowd is, that any slur against our troops is believed first and used as further proof the entire Iraq war effort is a failed and harmful waste.
Murtha's "Band of Brothers" card was pulled when he became the poster boy for the cut and run crowd, but this ensures that he sits at the John Kerry disgraced veterans table.
