The Shift - Embed Bloggers In Iraq

My good pal and partner-in-taking-on-the-bias Bill Roggio of the Fourth Rail will be heading to Iraq soon to embed blog with the Marines of Regimental Combat Team - 2.

Here are the details and please support his trip if you can.  As usual, when I recommend supporting a cause or someone doing great things (like Michael Yon), I donated to support Bill's trip this morning.  He's covering the costs himself (just think what transportation, body armor and equipment will cost).

seems like its getting to the point where the bloggers are about to get unleashed on the battlefront. this should be good thing but only if lurkers and fellow bloggers stay in touch with them becuase you know they arent going to see a single line in the MSM from these new journos.
they changed the rules so there will be more than the MSM's THIRTY correspondents in-country but they will be poo poo'd as shills by the communists. so what, go make history and Ernie Pyle the commies to death.
What people forget is that Mike Yon was SF and can handle the optempo and not compromise the patrols he's riding with. Of course the reds say this is bad becuase he's prejudiced,they say.
I just hope that everybody else going over there knows how to stay the hell outta the soup and not give away the squads becuase theyre draggin ass changing film, tapes etc..

It'll be very interesting and I'll make sure to monitor.

I wish "Carl" would come in here to make sense of this crap, but he's probably in uniform now. The problem with these bloggers is that they are not very good at reporting. For those of us actually in the military who need information about how others see the war, twerps like Yon and "Bill" are not very good but no one has the balls to say it.

It is like listening to someone screaming propaganda in an echo chamber. I am all for the message, but if I want information I have to go elsewhere.
