230th Birthday for the US Army

Sunday was the official 230th Birthday for the US Army (above is the back of the celbratory/logo dogtag).  This week, there are celebrations going on across the country.  Por ejemplo, here in Chicago:

Tuesday, June 14th
          • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Flag-raising on Daley Plaza
          • 6:00pm-7:00pm: Future Soldier swearing in
          • 7:05pm: White Sox game at US Cellular Field
          • 7:05pm: Cubs Games at Wrigley Field
 
          Friday, June 24
          • Chicago Army Birthday Gala at Union League Club
 
          Saturday, June 25
          • 8:30pm:“Salute to Chicago” Army 230th Birthday Army Field Band Concert

Of course, I'll be in Michigan this week and miss any of the events.

At the time, the Army discriminated against enlisted soldiers who wanted use the "Green to Gold" program to become officers, so he left to attend Stanford University. There, he became expert in detecting, avoiding, and surviving L-shaped ambushes, before dropping out to be as entrepreneurial as he could be. He is now the founder of a software startup serving the insurance and construction industries, and splits time between Lake Tahoe, Boonville, and San Francisco, CA.
