The only nice thing about that is you get to remind people about Mat, at the expense of his lessers at Newsweek. Seems like a double dip to me.

More and more these jackals get their due, while ours feast in Valhalla.

Cordially,

Uncle J

After what it did, Newsweek doesn't even deserve to be used to wrap fish...

Yes, thank you for reminding us of your friend and Hero.

I clearly remember that day. MAJ Schram was our first (and unfortunately not our last) KIA for Muleskinner Squadron (SPT/3ACR). It was even more poignent as he was killed on Memorial Day. Memorial Day will always mean something different to me from now on.

MAJ Schram, we'll see you again at Fiddler's Green. Till then, rest easy, sir - Brave Rifles....

Mr. Blackfive,
A very honorable reason to blog.

Thanks for sharing this story. And thanks for starting your blog. Your ascension to the upper tiers of blogging proves that you have a lot to say that is indeed worth reading.

Ironically, we all know that if the Newsweek reporter would have gotten some photos of American soldiers shooting terrorists during the ambush, the story would have been on the cover of the magazine.

Bastards.

In remembrance of Admiral Jeremy Michael Borda, US Navy.
Thanks to News week a Good man was destroyed by their communist rag.

The only way I get through dark days like these is when bloggers like you give us something positive to hang onto. When I think of men like your friend Major Mathew Schram it breaks my heart to think of what we have lost. The scum at Newsweek wouldn't recognise the kind of honour and integrity that he represented and they don't deserve to write about good men like him. They are garbage and like the New York Times and my own newspaper the Express News, the only time they write about the Military is to show them in a poor light or when they are horribly injured-which they do because they think it makes George Bush look bad. But blogs like this one give me hope, thankyou as always.

...and today the White House News Corps demanded to know why the White House would presume to tell NEWSWEAK what to print. Check out Drudge.

As Mike said above, "Bastards".

Thanks for a great blog.
