Blackfive.net As Course Material

Wonder of wonders, Blackfive.net as University course material...

NC State's Professor Jason Swarts' course on Online Information and Evaluation is taking a look at Blackfive.net...

This course will introduce you to the practice of evaluating and designing online information. We will engage in a focused study of various genres of online communication events. Our aim is to understand how design choices impact the rhetorical and functional work those genres support. After studying multiple online communication genres through the lens of genre studies and information design, we will apply our knowledge to the design of a complex, multipage website.

I read a few of the student blogs.  Callie's "pre-hamburger" cow thing had me laughing.  And I liked E-Ching's Hodge Podge Chinese New Year post.

At the time, the Army discriminated against enlisted soldiers who wanted use the "Green to Gold" program to become officers, so he left to attend Stanford University. There, he became expert in detecting, avoiding, and surviving L-shaped ambushes, before dropping out to be as entrepreneurial as he could be. He is now the founder of a software startup serving the insurance and construction industries, and splits time between Lake Tahoe, Boonville, and San Francisco, CA.
