Administrative Note
Just a note about posting around here. My father is in the hospital and not in great shape right now. I'll be posting less over the next few days. I am responsible for the decisions around his care and I might disappear from the blogosphere for a day or two in order to focus on more important things.
He's been pretty incoherent and the docs have been working with me to get him to come around. Yesterday, I finally got a response (and this is not one of my soft-touch set ups for a joke).
My dad is a life-long democrat and has been infatuated with John Kerry ever since we lived in Massachusets decades ago. So, my dad was muttering something about the election and I leaned over and said to him, "Hey, Dad, I had you sign an absentee ballot yesterday for Bush..."
He just about levitated off of his bed in order to strangle me.
[Note to Illinois Election Commission - I was kidding.]
