Michael Maggot Moore's Lies Affect the Troops

Posted By Blackfive
"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow--and they will win." - Michael Moore - U.S. News & World Report, 7/12/04

Here are a few links about the lies and the effect of powerful man who hates America:

First, Amy Ridenour's National Center Blog has a post from Joe Roche- an Army Specialist with the 1st Armored Division.

Michael Moore's film, Fahrenheit 9/11, is making the rounds here at U.S. bases in Kuwait. Some soldiers have received it already and are passing is around. The impact is devastating.

Here we are, soldiers of the 1st Armored Division, just days from finally returning home after over a year serving in Iraq, and Moore's film is shocking and crushing soldiers, making them feel ashamed. Moore has abused the First Amendment and is hurting us worse than the enemy has...

Next, if you haven't seen this quote from Moore claiming that Army bases are embracing F9/11, then check out this link to Kuro5hin (sent by Frank A.):

"We sold out in Fayetteville, home of Fort Bragg," in North Carolina, Mr. Moore said on Sunday. "We sold out in Army-base towns. We set house records in some of these places."
Kuro5hin shows that only one theater in Fayetteville was showing the film and it was only at one time during the day.

I'm disgusted that it is having this effect. I'm sick that our military are being made to feel ashamed. HOW do we counter that? WHAT can we do? Unfortunetaly he has the bigger audience. He is being heard. All we can do is continue to send e-mails, fly our flags, be there to welcome the Troops when they get home.

But it makes me so damn mad that someone like this has this kind of power. Where is the justice? (I know, I know. I'm preachin' to the choir, but still.....)

When I go next month, I am taking a bunch of copies of that Cox & Forkum cartoon with the 'minutemen' quote. It's not much, but I don't know what the hell else to do.

Email it to every GI you know, maybe.

I have faith in our troops. Just as most Americans, right and left, understand Moore is a jackass, so to will they.

I also think that people like Michael Moore are more likely to radicalize soldiers against the left than to help their cause.

I know. I was moderate, maybe even liberal before joining the Army in 1991. But I grew up in Berkeley. I see the wasteland that is liberalism every day (I'm still in Berkeley). I see businesses running to Oakland, to Emeryville, even to San Francisco because Berkeley is such an inhospitable climate. I see Peoples' Park, where homeless come from around the country to live. Yes, to live. Because of Berkeley's idiotic policies encouraging them to come. Because Berkeley, in all it's socialist glory, is the only community that really cares about the homeless, with advocates who tirelessly work to get them off the streets.

The lie that is Berkeley really pisses me off, just as the lie that is Michael Moore will piss soldiers off. Sure, Moore will have his converts, but I'm betting a lot of those soldiers will just reject f9/11 -- and the un-american hate politics behind it.

Now is THIS finally proof of '... providing aid and comfort to the enemy?'

If I were in Iraq living under the circumstances the troops are living in and I saw MM's documentary I would be so angry, angry at the
liberals who have given MM a place at their convention, who hug him, go to his show, try to
make the world think he has any brains at all.

He looks like what he is, and it is not pretty!

I want the troops to know he is the liberals
poster boy. If they want to show how they feel,
vote for the president. His caring and pride in
his troops are what they have to focus on.

They are doing a fantastic job in Iraq, it is hard to believe how far they have come with all
their duties in Iraq. They are held in the deepest respect and admiration by the people in America who are smart enough to know they are needed very badly. Bless them.

The Mhore-ons from Daily "Screw 'Em" Kos are swarming LGF with taunts...

And so the light shines down upon the truth...

As Mhore is speaking before the DNC, and as F***911 is being used for fund raising, I say he stands as mainstream (D) and reflects JFKerry(D)'s foreign policy.

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win." -- Michael Mhore

"The motivation for war is simple. The U.S. government started the war with Iraq in order to make it easy for U.S. corporations to do business in other countries. They intend to use cheap labor in those countries, which will make Americans rich." -- Michael Moore

"I think (Bin Laden is under the protective watch of) the United States, I think our government knows where he is and I don't think we're going to be capturing him or killing him any time soon." -- Michael Moore in an interview with Bob Costas

Remember that the North Vietnamese used JFKerry(D)'s own words, and have a museum featuring him, to beat down our POW's.

Is it OK if we call the (D)'s unpatriotic now?

This has me in a door slamming, dog kicking, punching holes in the wall, hair pulling, furniture breaking, screaming at the neighbors, enraged. I served. My son serves now. What el-gordita did crosses the line into treason. He needs to see that there are logical consequences for his actions.

Here is how you handle this. I have done it at work. As soon as some one starts giving the "film" kudos you jump their ass with the facts and the truth about what Jabba claims in the movie and his checkered pass of lying and exploiting people he claims to care about. Point to them Dave Koppel from NRO and his 56 Lies of F-911. Also bring up all of the liberals who have denounced him and the facts that Richard Clarke, Joe Wilson, George Soros, and others are full of shit and prove it to them. Know your enemy and call them on it.

Here is what the daily kos (shit) has to say about this subject.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/7/26/17320/6581

Pretty disgusting if you ask me.

Guys,

We have to let the kids out there who feel affected by this that that reaction was exactly what Moore was hoping for. The American people stand behind them, and a lying crapsack like Moore isn't going to change that - no matter what he or his Hollywood pals might think.

Plus, people are striking back against Moore. While they're not going to be as big as Moore's work, there's both a book and a movie about Moore's career.

If you want to take action, though, do little things. Lt. Smash regularly organizes counter-protests in San Diego, and the Protest Warriors do the same thing around the country. Go to a couple, and mayme a video or some photos will make it up to the web where the guys stationed overseas can see it. Complain (via letter or in person) if your local bookstore puts all of the liberal books face out, but shows only the spines of the conservative titles (if they even have them at all).

Or, for any of you Company men (and others of that philosophical ilk), try a black op - send Moore all of your free fried chicken dinner coupons. Load the boy up with every free Big Mac, large serving of cheese fries, or double helping of turducken you can find. Your conscience, and his heart specialist, will thank you.

The Daily Kos denizens are communist thugs. The funny thing about them is that they continue to denigrate soldiers when their glorious leader WAS a soldier in the 3rd Infantry Division.

Idiots.

It would be my fondest dream if Michael Moore were captured by the Islamo-Fascists, just to hear that fat bastard beg for his life.

He is a loathesome creature, a shameless gasbag, not good enough to lick the GIs' boots. Ditto to Jack's fantasy scenario.

More words of wisdom from the Michigan Manatee.

WHy can't I get lucky and he get harpooned by some Whalers while he's in his pool or something?

As Misha would say, "Rope, tree, Fatass Moore, some assembly required." I think in this case, however, we might just need a sturdy tractor as well, just to get him off the ground. He is one of the few people in this world whom I would immediately physically assult, should I meet him face to face, charges be damned.

When the new movie 'Michael Moore Hates America' is released, maybe copies can be sent to the troops. That might help counteract some of the propaganda from Moore.

Blackfive...I apologize for my backtract exerpt showing up on your blog like that. I'm just very very angry.....
I won't be offended if you remove it or ask me to. But I'm very very angry.........
Off to go find some tranquility somewhere and cool down........

The disturbing thing about this story is not so much that young, impressionable troops are becoming discouraged or ashamed because of the lies in the film. They're kids, they don't know any better. We conservatives have argued for years that movies, television, etc, do in fact influence young folks views and actions, while the liberals have said (to borrow a phrase from some comic) "nay nay!". So anyone with a bit of sense could see that the gasbag's rant/screed was going to have some effect. It's going to have to be up to older and wiser troopers to help the younger kids see the lies and the light. Not much we can do about that from here.

No, the truly disturbing thing about this story is the fact that the film is being shown in a war zone at all, sponsored by AAFES, which if I recall correctly is a large part of the overall MWR (Morale, Welfare, Recreation) system of the military. For an AAFES official to say that they base their decision on what to show overseas on what is popular in the states is just a cop-out and a cover for people with an agenda. One should never imagine that just because someone is a bureaucrat with the military support establishment they can't possibly have a leftist agenda.

They AAFES command needs to be called out on their decision to bring F911 to the war zone, and, more importantly, the brass need to stand in the door and say "we are not going to allow this propaganda film to be shown to our troops while they are in combat". And mean it, damn the outcry from the libs (which would quickly come, because they'd surely love nothing more than for Moores lies to foment mutiny or refusal to serve).

Sorry for the length, but that's my 2c.

Scott M has the question that's been spinning through my head - who shows "Farenheit 9/11" to a theatreful of front-line troops?

I'd like to second BacksightForethought's (and others') remarks -- there are many ways we can show our support and help counteract whatever effect MM may have. Here are some links you may have seen before:
