Media Alert - The Magnificient Bastards of 2/4 Marines
Carrie sent this media alert on the Magnificient Bastards:
War Stories With Oliver North - Iraq:The Struggle for FreedomI usually do work on Sunday nights (after Little Blackfive is asleep) in prep for the week ahead, but I'm going to try to catch this one tonight.Sunday, July 11, 2004, 8 PM EDT
In this gripping episode of "War Stories with Oliver North," we go door to door in "Operation Sheik It Up." On these dangerous foot patrols in Ar Ramadi, the I Marine Expeditionary Force tracks hidden weapons and terrorists. You'll also hear from soldiers and Marines as to what they are doing to win the hearts and minds of a hostile population.
Although this episode features other services, it focuses on the "Magnificent Bastards" of 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, as they go through their final pre-deployment training at Camp Pendleton, and March Air Force Base - unto the crucible of Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
This is their story, about those young Americans serving on the front lines, in the War on Terror.
