Urban Irony (Under Construction Woes)
I hate Irony. Irony sucks.
My family is moving from our condo in downtown Chicago. While we are surrounded by great restaurants and pubs/bars/taps/taverns galore, I've complained that we never had a good Mexican restaurant nearby or a grocery store within walking distance. Now, behind our building, a new grocery store is being built along with a new Borders book store. It'll increase the value of our condo, sure, but I'll miss the opportunity to push my grocery cart out of the store and into my condo. That would be nice...
And, now a Mexican restaurant is getting built on the OTHER side of the street - right next to Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins. I LOVE burritos - even when, on the rare occasion that, I'm sober. It probably won't be finished before we move.
And further irony...right above the Mexican restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins and a Fannie Mae store, a new Curves is being built.
