Is Blogging A Legitimate Communication Forum?

Posted By Blackfive

Of course it is...what did you think that I was going to say? :->

I haven't had that much to drink...yet.

Anyway, via Roger Simon, I found an interesting post about Meet the Press - my favorite Sunday morning political show. I know Tim Russert is a Democrat but I really like his style. He's a nice guy who can ask tough but fair questions. I think he gives a damn about being fair.

Roger directs us to Jeff Jarvis' Buzzmachine for his post, "Meet the Blogs". It's 9pm, and, on Chicago cable, Meet the Press is repeated on CNBC. I don't know if this is weird or not, but I love reading transcripts and then watching the telecast. It's kind of like watching a great movie more than once. Think of how many more interesting things that you picked up when you saw Pulp Fiction the second or third time.

I read Jeff's post and turn on the TV to see it for myself. David Broder is cool. Roger Simon (not the screen-writing, cool blogger Roger Simon, but the reporter/journalist from U.S News and World Report and, now in-my-not-so-humble-opinion, elitist snob, Roger Simon) is not. FYI - Russert says to Roger Simon, "Roger Simon, when I say troll, I think of you."

Check out their comments on Jeff Jarvis' site. Scroll down to "Meet the Blogs" if you are taken to the top of his blog - Buzzmachine.
